Rev. Andre Jerome Saunders was born January 3, 1964 in Newbern, North Carolina and currently resides in Augusta Georgia. He is married to Sherrie Saunders and they are the proud parents of two lovely daughters, Ashley and Alexis.
Rev. Saunders attended Bradwell Institute in Ft. Stewart Georgia and Augusta Technical College, Augusta, Georgia, where he earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science. He also has a Bible College Diploma in Biblical Studies from Faith Bible Institute in Monroe, Louisiana. He has conducted several seminars and workshops on Evangelism and Family Enrichment Ministries.
He has enjoyed over 29 years of experience in full time ministry. Since August of 1993, he has been under the teaching ministry of Pastor William B. Blount of Greater Young Zion Baptist Church. He has actively participated in several ministries: Director of Evangelism/Discipleship Ministry; Brotherhood Ministry; Food/Clothing Bank Ministry; Male Choir; Pastor Support Committee; teaching New Membership classes; and Bible Study Classes. He is presently employed as the Christian Education Director overseeing the Christian Education Department at Greater Young Zion Baptist Church, Augusta, Georgia for the last year, and he previously worked for the United States Postal Services for 20 years.
In 2004, Rev. Saunders accepted the call with much humility to preach and spread the gospel. He is a licensed and ordained minister who is Saved, Sanctified, and Filled with the Holy Spirit. Rev. Saunders is an inspired energetic preacher and teacher, who loves the Lord; and he is disciplined, task-oriented and well-grounded in Biblical truth.
He is the former pastor of the New Home Welcome Baptist Church in Sylvania, Georgia.
